I met the uss hunley in 1979 spent 5 year on her made it to e-5. Repair divsion. I had a great time. Got some mad skills from the navy.still use them today.

My first ship was the L.Y. Spear working in RADCON. I went into the reserves and once a month reported to RADCON on the USS Dixon. Came back active duty and was on the USS Emory S. Land AS-39 as the CPO of the Sonar/Antenna shop. Attended the decom of the Spear in Norfolk.

I SERVED ON THE OLD PRO 68TO69 IN GUAM. I WAS W AND R DIV. SPECIAL SERVICES. WE TOOK CARE OF ANDYS HUT. I WAS IN CHARGE OF THE LOAN CARS FOR THE CREW.. ALSO LIFE GUARD ON PROTEUS BEACH.AND HELPED RUN THE POOL TABLES AT ANDYS HUT. SORRY TO HEAR PROTEUS IS GONE. SHE WAS PART OF MY YOUNG LIFE. THEY SCRAPED HER IN 08.
