Entries are display most recent first.

Please note - due to a recent "hacking" incident -
entries between August 2008 and December 2011 were lost.
Unfortunately- every effort to recover the lost entries was unsuccessful
as even the backup files were corrupted beyond repair. Fortunately an off-site
backup of the earlier entries was available and is here. We regret this loss.

Tender:

USS Fulton AS-11

Comments:

I served aboard the USS Fulton AS-11 from December 1965 until mid 1967. I was in the Operations Division initially acting as a signalman striker. Later I became a Hospital Corpsman and in 1968 was serving at St. Albans Naval Hospital in NYC. I enjoyed the Fulton's homeport of New London, Connecticutt, where the locals referred to the Fulton as being "welded to the pier". We did take the yearly trips to Puerto Rico and once to Bermuda. We drydocked in Charleston,SC for a summer and it was humid/hot. The Fulton as known for good chow and our sub squadron was the tops, with the Nautilus leading the way. We were good friends with the ASR Skylark. We had a great crew and fine leadership. I miss the Fulton and will always remember my days aboard her with thankfulness that she was my home for a while.
